ETHOS

We believe in expressive yet restrained architecture that enhances the way people live.

Our work is shaped by clarity, purpose and a deep understanding of place—refined over more than 30 years of residential practice across Scotland.

As architects based in Edinburgh, we are deeply familiar with Scotland’s changing light, layered history and varied landscapes. From long, bright summer days to low winter sun, we design homes that respond with confidence—promoting calm, coherence and a meaningful connection to the natural world.

Whether reimagining a historic building or creating something entirely new, our focus is always on integration. Our homes flow naturally—supporting domestic life through thoughtful spatial arrangements, enduring materials and quiet architectural expression.

Our commitment to sustainability is embedded in both material and method. We favour natural, durable resources and adopt passive, low-energy design principles wherever possible. Where appropriate, we incorporate renewable technologies and low-carbon strategies—balancing beauty with environmental responsibility.

Over the decades, we’ve built strong relationships with a trusted network of craftspeople, consultants and makers—many of whom have worked with us for years. These partnerships, along with our growing collaboration with emerging talent, ensure each home is crafted with care and built to last.
