Set in beautiful, landscaped gardens, opening onto the rolling countryside of MidLothian, this house had an underused conservatory. Our clients were looking for something which better reflected the stature and solidity of the main house to replace the conservatory. The house is Grade B listed which meant the replacement of the conservatory, on a principal elevation, required some careful thought. We developed a simple idea and used high quality stone and zinc. The end result speaks to the traditional elements of the main house but is subtly more contemporary, hopefully classic.
