Remodelling of Kitchen & Family Spaces
Completed 2008
This project involved the opening up and combining of 3 separate rooms to the rear of the house (breakfast room, kitchen and family room) to create one large and spacious kitchen and dining room. This space is on the north side of the detached house and opens onto a large, secluded garden.
The project included the introduction of sliding doors to give access to the garden and to open up the vista to this sun-filled space. It also included creating a new, glazed screen and door to the hallway, allowing lots of south light and sun to flood through the house.
The alterations have transformed the way the house works and have created a feeling of light and space. There is now a real sense of connection between the front of the house, the new kitchen and the back garden. Very simple interventions with big impact. |
