Redevelopment of townhouse

Formerly an old fashioned and up market B&B, we gutted this 4 storey terraced building. The rear courtyard garden was full of a conservatory and a utility extension and a double garage. These were demolished to create a garden.
We opened up the basement level to form a large family kitchen area and this in turn opens onto the rear garden. Internal basement cellars were opened up to create a spacious lower hall, we designed in a contemporary style a new offshoot which incorporates a glassy vestibule.
The upper floors were refurbished carefully to create simple and well connected spaces. Light materials and finishes were used throughout and a new clear glazed cupola throws light onto the original stair case. |
